those defensive stats still blow my mind...2nd in total defense, but yet 50th something nationally. Just shows how the offense dominated the Big 12 in 2008.

Those were the numbers that stuck out the most to me also garn. And on the opposite end look at the offensive numbers. We were #12 in the Nation in total offense but #6 in the Big XII.

But and the big But here is, with these numbers we have improved as a football team over the last 4 years.

I really believe once our defense comes around and we continue to control the time of possession and learn to take care of the ball more, we are going to be right back in the top 10! And that will make me happy :)

In any other conference, those offensive numbers would've probably been good for 2nd or 3rd best.

Or how crappy defenses were in the Big XII. By the end of the year Nebraska had a pretty good defense. The offense and special teams gave up at least 14 points against Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado and Clemson. that 29 points a game we ended up giving up is misleading.

And I believe one of our keys to getting back to 9-10 wins a season is playing defense.
